The Top 6 Reputation Management Questions Answered

Question 1
How do I go about removing any offending content from Google?

There is no way to remove a site from the Google index Only Google can do that. The only thing that you can do is to promote or create neutral or positive content in order to push down the negative content. Google works on a very specific algorithms that dictates what content is relevant and what is not. We have to make your content more relevant than the negative content.

Depending on how aggressive you want us to be, we will work to promote tens or hundreds of pages to try to push the negative websites into the deep depths of Google’s index and fight to keep them down there.

Question 2
What can you do to help us?

Grey Intelligence will work with you to find and create positive content, social media profiles (Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and use approved Search Engine Optimisation methodologies to make these websites become more “Relevant” than the bad websites.

In essence, Google wants to see two things:

1. Unique Content – we are going to create and find unique positive content about your company.

2. Links – Google wants to see many other websites pointing to your site. It’s very similar to a popularity contest. The more people that link to your websites, the more Google likes you. We artificially create this popularity to the tens (or hundreds) of sites that we create for you.

Bottom line is we can take on the brunt of the workload to help you fix your reputation.

Question 3
How long does it take to remove content?

The length of time that it takes to fix your reputation depends on many factors. We have fixed issues within 30 days, but sometimes it can take 4-6 months. If you are hearing something more aggressive than this, you are being lied to. There is no way to speed this process up, so beware what people are saying.

Very similar to how Search Engine Optimisation works, it takes time for results to occur. We could tell you something you want to hear, but we pride ourselves in transparency.
Things that could determine if it takes 1 month versus 6 months:

The amount of items on page 1 and 2 of search results. We have to look at what is on page 1 and 2. The more negative content you have, the longer it will take.

How many positive items are out there? If you have a lot of positive websites, especially on authoritative websites like Linkedin, Facebook, Press Releases, etc., and they are already positioned on the first few pages of the search engine results, our job will be much easier than if you had nothing online about you.

Question 4
How much is it going to cost?

Costs vary greatly depending on complexity of the attack. We price ourselves within most budgets, but sometimes a scaled down budget can mean it would take longer to fix the issue. We will let you know all of your options and what you can expect from those campaigns. As a guideline, our fees start from just £995 + VAT  per month (minimum 3 month project).

Question 5
Can’t I employ Solicitor to remove the content?

In some cases, we will recommend an Solicitor to help you get rid of the bad press altogether. But that does not mean you do not need a reputation management campaign. The law is usually on the side of the website owner. If the attack was anonymous, it could take years to get it removed. We recommend you actively try to push the content down and hire an attorney to get it removed altogether. We have several attorneys that we work with that we can recommend to you.

Question 6
Can you guarantee to remove everything?
